What happens when you realize the life you are living is not the one you wanted? That, day after day, someone has been crushing your dreams and turned you into a different person?Pio is a clumsy, awkward boy whose choices have always been imposed on him by his late father, a wealthy businessman. Sure, his life is privileged: a lawyer and CEO of his legacy company, married with children, living in his in-laws castle, surrounded by a flourishing vineyard. And that’s not all.Easily manipulated, he appears to be the perfect candidate as a puppet mayor, and a group of local businessmen has just put his candidature forward. Indeed, Pio has been basking in his numbness, but the time has come for him to erupt like a volcano that’s been dormant for a long time. The change is triggered by Father Boschin, the local pastor and former spiritual guide of Pio’s dad, who needs him to hire an ex-convict as his driver to help him put his life back together. Amedeo bursts into Pio’s life with his straightforward attitude and liveliness, tipping over the family balance. The situation quickly goes awry: Pio’s wife Borromea and her noble parents demand the driver’s head, but Pio lacks the strength to fire him. It turns out to be the right move after all: Amedeo’s bravery will eventually rub off on Pio, who will start questioning his entire existence and embark on a path to freedom. It’s a proper revolution that will put him on the road, together with Amededo, for an exciting journey towards the eye-opening discovery that his new friend didn’t just “happen” into his life but is there for a reason. Their lives, apparently so different, share a strong and incredible bond. And nothing happens by chance.
