Kyle Roberts, one of Britain’s most celebrated songwriters, has run out of inspiration. Struggling with writer’s block and desperate to create something new, he retreats alone to an isolated recording studio surrounded by woods and water, accessible only by boat. His plan is simple: disconnect from the world and record an album in complete solitude. But in the middle of the night, a frightened young woman named Eliza appears at his door, claiming to have survived a car accident. Beautiful, charismatic and seemingly vulnerable, she immediately disrupts Kyle’s carefully controlled isolation – and, unexpectedly, reignites his creativity. Their connection is instant, but something is wrong. The studio’s communications have been deliberately cut, strange figures are moving through the surrounding woods, and Kyle begins to suspect that Eliza is not telling him the whole truth. He is right. Eliza reluctantly reveals that she has been drawn into a plot to kidnap Kyle for ransom by two dangerous criminals, Vic and Gad. What was supposed to be a straightforward abduction quickly spirals out of control, leaving Kyle and Eliza trapped together, fighting to escape a night that becomes increasingly violent, absurd and unpredictable. As the pair begin to trust one another – and their attraction grows into something more – another threat emerges. Foster, Eliza’s dangerously obsessive former lover, has entered the game, turning the attempted kidnapping into a deadly confrontation between jealous criminals, shifting loyalties and competing agendas. With no safe way out, Kyle and Eliza are forced to become unlikely partners, improvising their survival as chaos closes in around them. What begins as a songwriter’s retreat becomes an exhilarating battle of love, fear, violence and dark comedy, where nobody is quite who they first appear to be. By sunrise, Kyle may finally have found the inspiration he was looking for – but only if he and Eliza can survive the night.
