Leo & Lou

“Leo & Lou” blends heartfelt humor with a moving road‑movie journey about connection, trauma, and chosen family. Its tender bond between a mute orphan and a gruff loner, strong performances, and themes of diversity and inclusion create an emotionally rich, warm, and unforgettable cinematic experience.
Director Carlos Solano received nomination for Best New Director at Cinema Writers Circle Awards in Spain.

Leo, a mute young orphan, who doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere, escapes from the children’s home where she lives in order to travel to a fishing competition that reminds her of her parents. On the way, Lou, a non-conformist with barely a penny to his name, finds the little girl on the road, hitchhiking. Unaware of Leo’s real objective, he agrees to give her a ride, believing he’s taking her back home to her family. Together, they will embark on a journey on which there will be multiple obstacles to overcome, but despite everything, this unlikely pair will become inseparable and discover the extraordinary meaning of the word family.
