Dean Barry, an American veteran who had an affair with a Neapolitan girl during World War II, returns to Italy, to Naples, in the early 1970s, to meet his son for the first time. Dean would like to makeup for twenty-five years of absence, but his son is now a man, has grownup in the underworld, has been adopted by a smuggling kingpin and has no interest in his American father.
