Margherita is an internationally renowned actress with a career filled with successes and accolades. She lives in Rome in an apartment full of memories, often in the company of her agent Michela, some friends, and her son Enea who is an unhappy composer. Margherita is getting ready for a new project a movie directed by a young American filmmaker from Los Angeles. Suddenly, she is struck by physical problems, and examinations reveal a severe form of sclerosis, ALS. Antonio, an unsatisfied director but also her former partner and Enea’s father, comes to her aid. Due to the illness, Margherita must give up the film and quickly finds herself confined to immobility. Separated by many years, in this journey of suffering, Antonio and Margherita rebuild their relationship and together, they will write the grand finale of their lives.
