It’s a story about the emotional destinies of a group of people, about their ways of loving each other, of brushing past one another, of coming into contact. This is a choral narrative with a tone that is ironic and lighthearted, yet also tinged with bitterness. It portrays a humanity entangled in the chaos of emotions that have always stirred and amazed us. The characters are all connected through love affairs and, when seen together, form part of an intricate design—a weave in which each person is a knot, a beginning, and an end. Their fate lies in the hands of the God of Love, a capricious and unpredictable being: sometimes kind and gentle, at other times fierce and combative. Guiding us on this journey is the poet Ovid, the eternal bard of love, who—beyond all sentimentality and morality—returns from Imperial Rome to our contemporary world to tell us this story.
