Inspired by a real incident in which a group of housewives were arrested for gold smuggling at Chubu Centrair International Airport in 2017.
The film is directed by Chihiro Amano, one of the most promising filmmakers working in Japan today. After gaining wide recognition for Mrs. Noisy, which won the Japan Movie Critics Award, and directing acclaimed works such as Sato-san and Sato-san, Amano takes on her most ambitious project to date. Shooting extensively on location in Singapore, she brings to the screen a dazzling, almost magical journey surrounding a gold-smuggling operation, captured with the atmosphere of the city itself.
The film is headlined by Kasumi Arimura, one of Japan's most acclaimed actresses, in her first role as a mother; alongside Haru Kuroki and Sara Minami.
