Lu arrives in New York from China with the dream of opening his own restaurant, but that dream quickly unravels, leaving him buried in debt and reduced to invisible odd jobs. Years later, his wife and daughter, whom he has not seen in a long time, come to join him, determined to rebuild a life together. For a few fleeting days, Lu does everything he can to give them happiness and to reignite the fragile hope of a future worth holding on to.
